That\u2019s where I am in this journey. Building a startup isn't just about code, traction, or market fit. Sometimes, it\u2019s about staying conscious during a pitch, when your body is screaming to shut down.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Since October 7th, 2023, my team and I have been on a mission \u2013 one born not out of opportunity, but necessity. We lost friends, we lost our sense of safety. But we found something else \u2013 a deep commitment to help others like us, those who serve and protect, to stay mentally resilient.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Our startup, WalkImpact, is not just tech. It\u2019s personal. It\u2019s built on the idea that <\/span><span class=\"font-[700]\">resilience isn\u2019t silence \u2013 it\u2019s movement<\/span><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">We\u2019re developing <\/span><span class=\"font-[700]\">LaVie AI<\/span><span class=\"\">, a Web app and WhatsApp-based AI that helps security forces manage early trauma symptoms \u2013 through movement, mindfulness, and daily micro-actions. It\u2019s not a therapy replacement. It\u2019s a first line of defense. A way to stay standing, before the system collapses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">But here\u2019s the real challenge: When I pitch this \u2013 I freeze. I\u2019ve spoken in front of crowds before. I\u2019ve led teams under pressure. But this? Talking about trauma, my own and others', while asking for funding \u2013 it\u2019s another level.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">I\u2019ve received tough feedback:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"\">&quot;Explain why walks and breathing are worth $20 a month.&quot;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">&quot;Why would companies pay for this?&quot;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">&quot;What makes you think this won\u2019t be just another expensive gadget?&quot;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Each question hits hard. Because this is not a product I can distance myself from. It\u2019s me. My story. Our story.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"font-[700]\">Storytelling is a muscle<\/span><span class=\"\"> \u2013 and mine needs daily work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-[700]\">Emotional connection is powerful<\/span><span class=\"\"> \u2013 but only when grounded in data.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"font-[700]\">Confidence comes from clarity<\/span><span class=\"\"> \u2013 when I know exactly who we\u2019re helping and how.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Here\u2019s some of that clarity:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"\">1 in 14 suffers from PTSD globally (WHO, 2023).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">70% won\u2019t get help in time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">In Israel, hundreds of thousands are at risk after Oct 7.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">We\u2019re not here to fix everything. But we believe that if we help one person avoid the dark spiral \u2013 we\u2019ve done something real.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"font-[700]\">WalkImpact is not just a startup.
