It\u2019s not the rhythm of Google Calendar. It\u2019s the rhythm of checking your phone not for messages, but for shelter updates. Of glancing at the door between Zoom calls \u2014 not because you're bored, but because you want to be ready. Just in case.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">On the outside, things might seem &quot;okay.&quot; But under the surface, there\u2019s a system running in the background \u2014 scanning, adjusting, absorbing.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">That\u2019s what high-functioning looks like when the ground is shaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Not productivity. Not clarity. Just\u2026 breath-by-breath leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">And I say &quot;leadership&quot; not in the CEO sense \u2014 but in the very human one: The decision to stay present, even when your instincts scream for escape.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"my-[3.2rem] mx-auto h-[1px] border-0 bg-black-a16\" data-test-id=\"publishing-divider-block\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Most frameworks don\u2019t prepare us for this. Startup culture celebrates execution, not preservation. Investors talk about momentum. Not nervous systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">But over the past two days, I found myself doing less \u201cdoing\u201d \u2014 and more noticing.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">I noticed how quiet it gets between sirens. I noticed how even the most analytical people I know are suddenly measuring progress by whether they slept more than three hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">And I noticed something else: No one\u2019s waiting for perfection. But everyone\u2019s craving presence.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"my-[3.2rem] mx-auto h-[1px] border-0 bg-black-a16\" data-test-id=\"publishing-divider-block\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">A friend of mine \u2014 a founder \u2014 was mid-call with investors. He stopped, not because something went wrong, but because <\/span><span class=\"font-[700]\">he refused to pretend everything was right<\/span><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">\u201cI\u2019ll continue,\u201d he said, \u201cbut I want to name the context. I didn\u2019t sleep last night. There were missiles. I\u2019m operating on 60%. I want to be honest about that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">The room \u2014 virtual or not \u2014 changed. It became a space where performance wasn\u2019t the point. Connection was.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"my-[3.2rem] mx-auto h-[1px] border-0 bg-black-a16\" data-test-id=\"publishing-divider-block\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">There\u2019s something strangely stabilizing about admitting instability.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">That doesn\u2019t mean collapse. It doesn\u2019t mean giving up. It just means telling the truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Because here\u2019s what the research quietly tells us:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<blockquote class=\"w-auto\"><p><span class=\"\">Trust rises when leaders speak from their nervous system, not just their mind. Healing accelerates when we allow micro-presence instead of macro-control. But I\u2019m writing it <\/span><span class=\"italic\">real<\/span><span class=\"\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">And that\u2019s my version of focus right now.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"my-[3.2rem] mx-auto h-[1px] border-0 bg-black-a16\" data-test-id=\"publishing-divider-block\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"\">A Few Practices That Helped (Not \u201cTips\u201d. Just&#8230; anchors):<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"\">Drinking water before opening any app.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Letting my to-do list be two items long, max.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Checking in with my body before checking email.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Texting one friend a day with no purpose \u2014 just \u201cthinking of you.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Giving myself permission to not read the news until I\u2019m grounded.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Remembering that emotional bandwidth \u2260 weakness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Using tools like <\/span><span class=\"italic\">Lavi<\/span><span class=\"\"> not as \u201csolutions\u201d \u2014 but as companions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Sitting in silence for 90 seconds before meetings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"\">Starting the day with one breath and a sentence: <\/span><span class=\"italic\">\u201cI\u2019m here. That\u2019s enough.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"my-[3.2rem] mx-auto h-[1px] border-0 bg-black-a16\" data-test-id=\"publishing-divider-block\" \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-main__content\" data-test-id=\"publishing-text-block\">\n<p><span class=\"\">Some days, clarity doesn\u2019t come from thinking harder.
