Today started in the early hours with the harsh realities of war on my mind. Yet, amidst the turbulence, I tried to make the most of the day by learning more about the market, the business environment, and specifically, the world of health insurance in the US.
It's painful to realize that a viable idea often stems from pain itself. But this is likely part of the cynical world that worships money—a lot of it—of Western culture.
In essence, there are two primary avenues:
- Develop a product that helps people already suffering from chronic illnesses to mitigate damage and improve their quality of life.
- Provide medical data that can help insurance companies and healthcare providers become more efficient and save money.
It's both fascinating and saddening to see that many health organizations and insurance companies in the US seem primarily driven by profit. A gross generalization, perhaps, but one that holds some truth.
Today, I hope to rest a bit after a challenging week filled with many aspects to tackle. But we have made another step forward, even in the middle of the storm, so hats off to that.
Take care of yourselves. May peaceful days come swiftly.
