Today was a day of escape from the harsh reality of war—finding solace in good things and good people who uplift me.
On top of that, I worked on the investor pitch deck for our startup. Here’s a sneak peek:
Why We’re Building This:
Our startup aims to support security forces, particularly soldiers and officers dealing with PTSD, helping them feel better, healthier, and happier. We are doing this through an innovative walking app. It’s an end-to-end solution designed to enhance mental health through personalized walking programs, with an AI-based personal trainer that adjusts the routine to the user’s needs.
- Team: We’re still on the hunt for the right CTO to lead the tech side, but the core team already has solid experience in wellness, mental health, and working with defense organizations. Our advisors include experts in PTSD treatment, and we are determined to build a strong tech foundation for scaling this solution globally.
- TAM (Total Addressable Market): We’re targeting two major industries: defense and wellness. The app’s initial market is Israel, and then we’ll expand to the U.S., focusing on military and veteran support organizations. Globally, the wellness market is expected to hit $121 billion by 2027, and in the U.S., about $10 billion is spent annually on PTSD treatment for veterans. These numbers make us confident that our product can tap into significant growth potential.
- Tech Product: The core of our solution is an AI-driven personal walking coach that tailors the walking experience based on the user's mood, physical health, and mental state. It connects seamlessly to wearables, tracks progress, and features gamification for engagement (think: Duolingo but for walking). We’re building a community, navigation features, and wellness tools that allow users to manage their mental health more effectively during their walks.
- AI Personal Coach: Adaptive walking plans tailored to each user’s needs.
- Integration with Wearables: Tracking steps, heart rate, and progress in real-time.
- Gamification: Engaging features like challenges and community interaction.
- Navigation: Scenic walking routes and mindfulness stops (similar to Waze, but for well-being).
- Wellness Hub: Meditation, music, podcasts, and breath exercises.
We plan to launch a Proof of Concept (PoC) in Israel, testing the app with security forces, followed by expansion into the U.S. where we could potentially serve 20,000 veterans in the first year alone. Our B2B and B2C hybrid model includes contracts with defense organizations and subscription models for individuals, with additional revenue streams from wellness gear and partnerships.
As always, feedback is welcome. Another small step forward, with many more to come. Stay safe, and let’s hope for quieter days ahead.
