Today started early, as many days do. It was filled with important updates about the war and progress with the startup. But all of that seemed secondary today.
Because today marked the anniversary of Irit Friedman, a woman who was like a second mother to me.
Irit believed in love. This was her guiding principle, and it’s one I’ve been trying to adopt and incorporate into my own life. She was such a significant figure in shaping who I am today.
Irit, I love you. Your absence is deeply felt, and I miss you every day. Thank you for the love you gave to me and to the world. I’m sorry you left so early, and I regret not being there more towards the end.
I talk to you every day. Your spirit and your way of life continue to guide me in every step I take. There’s no doubt that my startup is shaped by the values you instilled in me. I refuse to give up, out of love, until this venture succeeds in changing the lives of the people who need it most.
This is for you, Irit. Your love is still my compass.
