Day 216 of 1,095: Daring to Flirt

שיתוף פוסט זה

Today, I had the chance to train a crucial muscle—one I’ll need for recruiting the right tech partner. I’m not talking about the kind of flirting you might think. I mean the art of professional flirting—the skill of engaging with someone new, creating connection, and sparking curiosity.

Whether you’re on a promising first date, meeting new people at a networking event, or pitching a potential co-founder, it all starts with practicing how to connect authentically. And it’s harder than it looks.

The Real Question: Can You Push Past Fear?

Can you overcome that awkward feeling, swallow the fear of rejection, and start a conversation with someone you don’t know?

Can you openly say, “I’m looking for this,” or “I need help with that,” or simply, “I’d love to get to know you”?

If you think about it, every professional connection—whether it’s a business partnership, investment deal, or startup success—starts with a small moment of courageous outreach. It’s about learning to put yourself out there, even if the other person isn’t ready to smile back right away.

Flirting with Opportunity

The magic begins when we dare to take the first step. Initiating a conversation, no matter how casual, can open doors you didn’t even know existed. Sometimes it’s about explaining your vision. Other times, it’s as simple as saying:

“Would you like to hear what I’ve got in mind?”

So here’s my advice: Flirt with the world. Be playful, curious, and open, even when the outcome is unclear. The most meaningful connections often emerge from unexpected moments of boldness.

When was the last time you started a conversation with someone new? What happened?

Drop your story in the comments—who knows where it might lead?

See you on the next step of the journey,
