Today was tough, kicked off with a morning routine of meditation, therapy, a workout, and a vital process of refreshing the brain – only to be halted due to the ongoing war when we were supposed to advance a pilot clearly. These are the times we live in, right?
Frustrated by the situation and somewhat drained by everything this war entails, I found myself frozen. I didn't manage to make much progress today, and the meetings primarily revolved around the situation of the war and its implications. Then, I was sent to the sea to cleanse the residual energy and to understand one of the most important things every entrepreneur must train. It's a combination of the other side and maximum adaptation.
I now believe this combination needs a new name, so let's call this three-dimensional muscle "Reversing."
Reversing, in short, is a technique involving circular breathing, and in this context, it means we exhale and inhale until we reach a state where we are deeply connected with ourselves, essentially cleansing and replenishing anew.
As entrepreneurs, many of us are glued to the board – ideating, writing, refining, creating plans with GenAI, then reviewing them, preparing presentations, marketing, managing, partners, and employees, conducting sales calls, meetings, and more. There truly is no end, especially in the beginning.
Now, let's try to train our Reversing muscle, which integrates deep listening, identifying and connecting with the other side, and providing the best response to that side.
Try this tomorrow instead of listening to reply and connect to your pitch – truly listen, ask questions, look at the person you're in conversation with, and wonder how your product connects to them and how to use values in the world, content to explain the value you need to deliver to them.
In place of fitting onto slides of presentations – all principles, very Lean, and developing the person to tailor the conversation to the internal world of the other side.
Instead of just talking about your learning and insights in the next post, explain what you went through but connect it to the world of values by asking questions and principles.
Instead of saying how good, rich, and experienced we are, ask questions and truly listen to understand how the inner world, values, etc., of the other side connect to their story.
I don't just call it the Reversing muscle for nothing.
This muscle needs to be trained, and it's different from our natural inclination and how we were taught to conduct human interactions.
we're all subjective beings, right? If I asked each of you what you're reading right now, you'd summarize it a bit differently, correct?
That's why it's so crucial to step out of our usual comfort zone and develop this three-dimensional muscle I call "Reversing."
Temporary name, of course, you're welcome to suggest more ideas for the name and add more critical points.
That's it for today, off to an insane LinkedIn global webinar they personally invited me to.
