Simplifying Your Startup Journey: Lessons from Kids' Shows

As entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and challenges. Today, on day 32 of my 1,095-day journey of building ImP-Act, I found myself in a peculiar situation. Feeling under the weather, my plans were disrupted, and the weight of the difficult period we were going through in this war began to surface.

But then, I remembered that it's okay to rest. Instead of running negative scenarios in my head, I chose to keep it simple. Being sick is a sign that I need to rest and gather strength to be at my best for the road ahead.

Embracing simplicity is crucial in our entrepreneurial journey. When we first have an idea, it can be incredibly challenging to explain it effectively. One of the things I did today during my rest (because the legend that entrepreneurs are always thinking about their startup is pretty accurate…) was to watch a children's series where parents allow their kids to see their workday.

Beyond learning some new things about workplaces, I noticed how they strive to explain each concept in the simplest way possible.

Here's an example of how to keep the explanation of GenAI simple:

"In the past, when you wanted to get from one point to another, you would use a carriage and a horse. Then cars came along, and they also evolved—there are now cars that can fly. GenAI is like a car that can fly, helping us shorten our journey and assist us in so many aspects of our startup and life. It's here, constantly improving, and it's worth jumping on this flight as soon as possible."

How can we keep things simple through the lens of children's world?

  1. Find a short series on children's channels that explain ideas.
  2. Search for relevant keywords on TikTok and watch related videos.
  3. Ask the children around us what they think about the idea, maybe even pitch it to them, and see what they understand. Try to refine your message through their eyes and their world.

By simplifying our ideas and learning from the world of children, we can sharpen our messages and make our startup journey more accessible and engaging. Embrace simplicity, rest when needed, and keep moving forward.

As I wrap up, I want to emphasize the importance of rest. Taking time to recharge is essential for our well-being and our ability to tackle the challenges ahead. So, I'm going to rest and gather my strength.
