Day 259 of 1095: Walking Towards Solutions

Today didn’t go as planned. A meeting got canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, and I found myself with unexpected time. Instead of lamenting the lost opportunity, I laced up my shoes and walked—kilometers upon kilometers.

That walk turned into much more than a physical activity. It became a space for deep reflection, clarity, and creative problem-solving.

Walking isn’t just about movement; it’s about thinking. It’s a mental detox, a chance to step back, process challenges, and tackle problems from fresh angles. For me, today’s walk became a processing session about one of the most critical aspects of my entrepreneurial journey: building the right team for WalkImPact.

WalkImPact’s mission is bold—helping military veterans and first responders develop resilience and prevent PTSD. To scale this vision globally, I need the right co-founders, partners, and team.

Two Principles That Guide Me in Building Teams

1. The Team is Everything

A startup's success isn’t built on products, strategies, or even timing—it’s built on people. I’m looking for partners who not only bring expertise but deeply resonate with our mission. Together, we aim to empower those who serve on the front lines to transform trauma into growth and strength. This requires relentless commitment, patience, and heart.

2. Every Encounter is an Opportunity

Not everyone I meet will join me in the daily grind of this rollercoaster, but every interaction counts. A brief conversation can spark an idea, provide a critical insight, or lead to a connection that advances the mission.

But Here’s the Reality Check:

No matter how much I prepare, analyze, and interview, life is unpredictable. I can build the most thoughtful process, but the real test happens in the trenches. What’s within my control is ensuring that I’ve done my best—thought deeply, prepared rigorously, and trusted my instincts when making decisions.
