Over the past few days, we experienced significant changes across every dimension of the company: The product pivoted. The team evolved. The pressure intensified.
But one thing shifted even more powerfully: I came back to myself.
In our search for product-market fit, we went too far. Too many directions, too much noise — and it cost us. We lost clarity. We lost alignment. But we didn’t lose the mission.
The most valuable lesson: The glue isn’t in the roadmap, the deck, or the data. It’s in the founder’s ability to lead from center, with conviction — especially when things fall apart.
We’re now developing what we call “LAVIe for Families.” It’s an AI-based simulator designed to empower caregivers — family members, partners, friends, commanders — to recognize distress, hold difficult conversations, and build emotional and relational resilience together with their loved ones in uniform.
The feedback so far has been remarkable: From users, clinical experts, and strategic partners alike:
This isn’t theoretical. I was in the middle of the storm myself — professionally and personally. And I applied the same tools we’re building into our product: Micro-actions. Emotional honesty. Reconnection through movement and presence.
It worked. It brought me back to clarity, purpose, and energy. And I remembered — this is the mission of my life.
- Ground yourself first — your team will follow your energy.
- Ask for help — it’s a strength, not a weakness.
- Reflect daily — where is your energy being spent? Where should it be?
- Re-communicate your vision — people don’t follow what you said last month.
- Lead your team like you’d lead your future self.
- Let users inform your direction — but don’t outsource your instincts.
- Build the new version in the open — transparency attracts alignment.
- Pivots are not failures — they are data, lived.
- Don’t avoid hard conversations — they compound in silence.
- Don’t wait to be fully ready — walk forward, and the path emerges.
There is no shortage of chaos right now — not in startups, and not in the world around us. But clarity is found through action. And energy is found through connection.
If you're leading something important right now: Start with your energy. It shapes everything else.
